Boehner/Obama Collaboration Exposes the D.C. Permanent Class
Barack Obama and John Boehner are from different political parties. They’re seen as enemies by a mainstream media that spills gallons of ink perpetuating the myth of gridlock.
But I hope all of you have your eyes open, because in reality, what you’re seeing is the D.C. “Permanent Class” in action. Gridlock is a myth. Partisan fights are mostly for show. When it comes to big decisions, it’s hard to tell much difference between the Bush White House and the Obama White House.
Many of you are likely perplexed because the propaganda of partisanship and divided government is so pervasive, it’s hard to get through the fog and see what’s going on. But when the chips are really down, the Washington elite rally together.
This explains why Barack Obama, who campaigned just five years ago as an anti-war liberal, has turned 180 degrees and is now asking Congress for the authority to bomb Syria.
This explains why John Kerry, who five years ago, was dining in Syria with Bashar al-Assad, is now channeling Dick Cheney as he barks that the U.S. can’t let “a thug and a murderer like Bashar al-Assad” get away with gassing the Syrian people.
This is the same John Kerry who became famous for bashing Nixon during the Vietnam War. Back then, Kerry crowed, “How can you ask a man to be the last one to die for a mistake?”
The Reality of Party Cahoots
The Permanent Class is not a new phenomenon. In his farewell speech from the White House on January 17, 1961, President Dwight Eisenhower warned the nation about what he believed was a dire threat to representative government. Here are his exact words: “In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist.”
First, you need to understand that the partisanship is great for fundraising. Democrats send thousands of letters and emails claiming that Republicans are about to strip women of their abortion rights. They raise millions, when in reality, the Republicans haven’t mounted any such effort. Both sides of the Permanent Class support abortion.
Republicans send thousands of letters and emails claiming that they want to repeal Obamacare. They raise millions, when in reality, the Republicans have continued to pour money into Obamacare every year since Boehner became House Speaker. Both sides support Obamacare because it’s good for corporate profits. We’re going to see millions of American workers lose job-based healthcare in the next few years, and that’s good for big business. I can easily predict that in 10 years, most Americans will be buying overpriced insurance from government exchanges.
Now, Tea Party outsiders like Senators Mike Lee and Ted Cruz pose a threat to these big corporate profits. Such politicians are dangerous to the Permanent Class, and that’s why the D.C. media is so focused on destroying their careers sooner rather than later.
The Permanent Class can’t have people saying what Ted Cruz said earlier this week: “The last thing we ought to be doing is sending our sons and daughters into harm’s way… to serve as Al-Qaeda’s Air Force.” Words like these are harmful to the Permanent Class agenda.
Just Follow the Politician Bread Trail
So if you’re seeking to understand the elite in Washington, just ignore what politicians say. Instead, you should look at what they do.
In fact, that’s exactly what we will do in our new monthly newsletter, Constitutional Wealth (more information about this coming soon). We’ve positioned ourselves to score big profits by tracking the elite class and understanding how they actually work hand-in-hand, even as they bash each other on the TV talk shows. Take Syria, for example. War makes for big profits. Previously, while we were building Constitutional Wealth, we added to our portfolio the company making the same Tomahawk Cruise Missiles that may now be used against Assad’s regime.
As unfortunate as it is, by following the actions of the Permanent Class, it’s easier to see where the government agenda truly lies.
